Customers needs

This client was an older lady and small. She had stools dotted around so she could reach cupboards or the upper shelves of her standard fridge. Not only was it hard for her to use, it was also dangerous.

Our solution

We put a plinth step in the area she uses for prepping meals, directly by the bin. We couldn’t do without wall cupboards as they were needed for storage. So we put in pulldown mechanisms where we could and the cupboard contents come down to her level. A Belfast sink made sense as it’s deep so washing up is easier. And the fridge and freezer? By using less usual 120cm high appliances we set them side by side in cabinetry that lifts them just high enough off the floor to make it easy to see and reach the whole fridge and freezer
